~ Glory

Fascination is an Ill Health Card signifying your mental condition. It is the opposite of Dread. Your mind is brighter, but too BRIGHT and you'll end up a Poor Lunatic.

When a Trembling in the Air action is active. It will periodically seek out and capture existing Fascinations; when it accumulates 3 Fascinations, a countdown to Glory ending started. Unless you can provide Dread or Fleeting Reminiscence in time, you'll become a lunatic who thinks you've ascended.

Fascination can be used to upgrade lore with aspect Requires Illumination. This won't consume Fascination but may instead breed it.

Obtaining[ | ]

Fascination can be obtained by several ways:

Removing[ | ]

Fascination can be removed in several ways:

  • Using it as a Moth influence in a ritual.
The right rite is required: Sunset Rite or Rite of the Map's Edge.
Especially useful to summon a Raw Prophet, which can be used to get rid of Evidences or simply left to safely decay.
  • Dreaming about it with Dread or Fleeting Reminiscence.
Dreaming with Dread will give you 1 Fleeting Reminiscence which can also be used to get rid of Fascination.
Dread, however, may be taken by Bleak Thoughts, so it is advisable to dream it away, leaving a safer Fleeting Reminiscence.
  • Feeding Dread and Fleeting Reminiscence to a Trembling in the Air action.
  • Early in the game you can use Fascination as trappings when recruiting believers.

See Dread and Fleeting Reminiscence for ways to obtain them.
